If you are new to this website I would like to welcome you, I am JerseyJohn.  I started the Main Event Social Club because I, like so many others, got tired of playing free poker in the Poker Leagues around DFW. It seems every session had its share of players who approach the games as “free poker” with absolutely nothing to lose, and they play that way, which doesn’t make for a very good game.  Many players possess a love of the game and would like to play in games that contain good solid poker to improve their games. This Social Club was created for them. The Club usually plays low buy-in poker tournaments and cash games but we will play whatever players want to play. On the tournaments we always play Deep Stack with NO REBUYS.

The Main Event Social Club is an exclusive membership-only club. There are NO dues, but you must be a member to participate.

We meet multiple times during the month and take part in friendly, competitive Texas Hold’Em poker games. All of our poker  games conform to Texas Penal Code Title 10 Chapter 47 , that is 1) they are held in private places, no public places, 2) there are no rakes, no person receives any economic benefit other than their personal winnings, 3) aside from the skill factor that in inherent with Texas Hold’em poker, the risk of losing or the chances of winning are the same for everyone.

All of our Poker Tournaments are low-level (usually $50+ buyin), deep stack and usually always no rebuys. We sometimes have a cap on how high the blind levels will go, which depends on the number of players and number of chips in play. This is done to maximize the amount of time we can play “poker” without it becoming an all-in pre-flop fest because of blinds becoming too high in relation to the number of chips in play. As players drop out of a tournament they will usually play a $1-$2 Cash game if there is enough interest. We have customized poker chips specifically used for cash games so there is no risk of renegade chips being introduced into the games.

All events will be in the North Dallas area, usually in Coppell, Frisco, Dallas and/or surrounding suburbs. Anyone can ask to host a tournament in the Dallas / Fort Worth area and it is encouraged.
